Mike Smith – Managing Director

Mike Smith – Managing Director

Mike has spent over 40 years in the IT industry starting as a computer operator in the IBM Data Centre in Wellington and progressing to shift leader before moving into a management/technical role at the then Firth Industries Limited. At Firths he installed the first IBM System/3 Model 15 in NZ and wrote all application software including AP, AR, GL, Payroll, Asset Register and Share Register.

From Firths Mike moved into an ownership role at Computer Strategy Ltd which specialized in RPG contracting and IBM Hardware sales.

This led to his current role at IDATA Resolutions Ltd.  Backup Strategies Ltd was initially formed in 1992 which morphed into IDATA Ltd in 2001. The focus since 1992 had been storage data protection with a specialist focus on solution provision and support.

 

Steve Brown – Technical Director

Steve has been in the IT industry for over 25 years. In this time he has specialised in the areas of Communications, Mini systems, Unix/Linux, Microsoft, Network Management, Security, Storage management and protection and Virtualisation. This knowledge has been applied in organisations from the smallest private organisations to the largest government and commercial ones both in New Zealand and the United Kingdom.

Steve utilises this depth and breadth of knowledge to help design and supply unique customer solutions customised to fit the most diverse business requirements.

Richard has over 35 years experience in IT with a career that commenced with 11 years at IBM followed by 8 years as CIO at Baycorp Holdings.

Following Baycorp Richard has worked in various management and consulting roles in New Zealand, USA, UK and Australia for companies such as: General Motors, Coca Cola, ANZ and Telecom.

During Richard’s considerable experience within the IT services industry he has built up a wide range of experience including: program management, project management, strategic planning, systems integration, data conversion, systems development, testing and implementation.

Richard began his career qualifying as an engineer in Electronics. Over the last 20 years he has specialised within the IT storage sector.

In 1999 Richard joined IDATA, with his main role of providing support/service excellence to our customer base across Australasia.

Richard has built up a strong team of engineers with an emphasis of maintaining IDATA’s culture and with a passion to remain leaders within our field.

He maintains a hands on role within the business and is certified to specialist level.

 
Yann Teboul – Service Delivery manager

Yann Teboul – Service Delivery manager

Yann has filled a variety of roles from accountant, developer, systems engineer, I.T. manager and service delivery manager through to acting C.I.O. Yann’s experience has encompassed elevated senior management positions within large-scale corporate environments. This diverse background means Yann is able to leverage strong business and management skills in combination with a keen interest and understanding of the technical aspects of the IT industry.

Yann has a long history of successful project management experiences, with a major SAP implementation being just one of his many achievements. Yann puts a strong emphasis on customer focus and always takes a ‘can do’ approach to challenges. Yann takes great pride in co-ordinating and ensuring the delivery of the best possible solutions, with customer satisfaction being of paramount importance as an outcome. Yann’s leadership and a results driven approach have been integral to continual career success.

In addition, Yann is also a Foreign Trade Advisor for the French Government. This places Yann in a key position of influence within a global business network and enables him to transfer his skills and knowledge between his job and his advisory role to great benefit in both areas.
